SEVERAL weather systems will continue to affect the country, bringing widespread rains to many areas, while the northeast monsoon (amihan) ushers in cooler conditions, a weather forecaster said Wednesday.
The shear line is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Northern Samar.
Similar weather is forecast over Palawan due to a trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
According to PAGASA forecaster Loriedin Galicia, the LPA is not expected to enter the PAR.
The easterlies will also cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Eastern Visayas, while much of Mindanao will continue to experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in affected areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora, as well as isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Cooler temperatures, particularly in the evening, are also expected due to the amihan.
In terms of sea conditions, Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters. Elsewhere in the country, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
