ISANG Tropical Depression na ang low pressure area (LPA) na nakapasok sa Philippine Area of Responsibility, ayon sa weather bureau nitong Lunes.
Dahil sa bagyong Gener, maraming lugar sa Luzon ang isinailalim sa Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.
Ayon sa 8 a.m. update ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), namataan si “Genera” 315 kilometro hilagang silangan ng Casiguran, Aurora na may taglay na hangin na 45 km per hour sa gitna ay pagbugsong hanggang 55 kph habang tumatakbo pakanluran sa bilis na 10 kph.
“The tropical depression is forecast to move generally west to west southwest until Wednesday afternoon before turning west northwestward to northwestward for the rest of the forecast period,” ayon pa sa Pagasa.
Inaasahan maglalandfall si Gener sa Isabela o Aurora sa loob ng 24 na oras at posibleng lumabas ng bansa sa Miyerkules.
“Gener is likely to experience limited intensification over the next two days but is expected to reach Tropical Storm category by Wednesday after emerging over the West Philippine Sea,” dagdag pa ng weather bureau.
Nakataas ang TCWS No. 1 sa eastern and central portions ng Cagayan (Piat, Santo Niño, Camalaniugan, Tuao, Lal-Lo, Enrile, Gonzaga, Alcala, Amulung, Santa Teresita, Baggao, Buguey, Solana, Rizal, Santa Ana, Tuguegarao City, Gattaran, Peñablanca, Iguig, Lasam, Aparri, Ballesteros, Allacapan, Abulug), Isabela, Quirino, at eastern portion ng Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda, Kasibu, Dupax del Norte, Quezon, Diadi, Bayombong, Ambaguio, Bagabag, Villaverde, Aritao, Bambang, Dupax del Sur, Solano).
Sa eastern at southern portions ng Apayao (Conner, Flora, Pudtol, Santa Marcela, Luna, Kabugao), Kalinga, eastern at central portions ng Mountain Province (Paracelis, Sadanga, Bontoc, Natonin, Sabangan, Barlig), Ifugao, Aurora, easter portion ng Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Pantabangan, Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, General Tinio, Rizal, General Mamerto Natividad, Palayan City), at northern portion ng Mainland Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real) including Polillo Islands are also under TCWS No. 1.
Palalakasin ni Gener at ng tropical storm na may international name na “Pulasan” na nasa labas pa ng PAR habagat na makakaapekto naman sa Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Davao Region.
