THE southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring rain showers across Luzon on Monday, the weather bureau said.
“It continues to affect the western section of Luzon and several parts of Central Luzon,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Obet Badrina said.
“Habagat” will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region and the provinces of Benguet, Abra, Zambales, and Bataan.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas may result in flash floods or landslides, according to PAGASA.
The bureau forecasted “habagat” to cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon
Badrina said the rest of the country could experience fair weather, especially at noon, but isolated rain showers were likely in the afternoon or evening.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail across the archipelago.
Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area, which was last tracked at 220 km. northeast of Aparri, Cagayan.
Badrina said it is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone for now. (PNA)
