Gov’t work in NCR suspended due to ‘Enteng’

MALACANANG announced the suspension of government work in the National Capital Region on Monday due to bad weather caused by Tropical Storm Enteng.

The work suspension is effective 8:30 am, the Office of the Executive Secretary said in a statement.

“The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads,” it added.

The Palace earlier suspended classes at all levels in Metro Manila also due to the heavy rains caused by Enteng, the country’s fifth tropical cyclone for this year.

Several areas in Luzon, including Metro Manila, are now under tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 2 as of 8 a.m.

Enteng packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph was last tracked over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, meanwhile, suspended the number coding scheme in the region. (PNA)
