THE easterlies affecting the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao will cause rain showers over parts of these islands, the weather bureau said Thursday.
“Some areas, like Zamboanga Peninsula, are already experiencing rains due to a combination of localized thunderstorms and the effects of the easterlies,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Benison Estareja said.
Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will continue to experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms are also forecast across the archipelago.
The entire archipelago will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, the low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) had developed into a tropical storm with international name, Shanshan.
“Shanshan will remain far from PAR and has no direct effect on any part of the country,” Estareja said. (PNA)
