Easterlies, northern monsoon to cause rains over parts of PH

THE easterlies and the northern monsoon will continue to cause rains over some areas of the country on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The easterlies will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga del Norte, and Palawan.

Moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will cause cloudy skies with rains in Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Strong winds and rough seas will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon, while the rest of Northern Luzon will continue to experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

The rest of the archipelago will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
