DANGER-level heat indices are forecast to be experienced in 44 areas on Wednesday, according to the weather bureau.
Nonetheless, generally fair weather will continue to prevail across the country due to the easterlies.
The easterlies could also cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
It added that severe thunderstorms could result in flash floods or landslides.
The heat index could peak at 46 degrees in Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; Roxas City, Capiz; Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Continued exposure could also cause heat stroke.
Meanwhile, the whole archipelago will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
