THREE weather systems are expected to bring rains to several parts of the country on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 4 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
The easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will continue to affect the rest of Cagayan Valley, as well as Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao, bringing light rains.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Calabarzon will experience cloudy skies with isolated rains due to the amihan.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in areas affected by the shear line, amihan, and easterlies due to moderate to heavy rains.
No gale warning has been raised, but small to medium-sized vessels are advised to remain alert and monitor weather updates due to the shear line.
