3 weather systems to bring rains to several parts of PH

SEVERAL parts of the country are expected to experience rain on Monday as three weather systems continue to affect the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms brought by the shear line are forecast over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon. PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The northeast monsoon, or amihan, will prevail over the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, bringing light rains. It will also cause isolated light rains over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will affect the rest of the country, resulting in isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA said moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will be experienced over Luzon, as well as the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao. In other areas, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

As of 2 a.m., PAGASA reported that no low-pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone development.
