3 weather systems to bring rains across PH

THREE weather systems will bring rains across the country Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The low pressure area (LPA) located 80 kilometers west-northwest of Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, Palawan will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan.

As of 2 a.m., PAGASA said the LPA is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Quezon, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will also experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to easterlies.

Moderate to heavy rains in the abovementioned areas could result in flash floods or landslides, according to PAGASA.

Batanes will experience light rains due to the northeasterly wind flow.

Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies will prevail over the rest of the archipelago.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast in Northern Luzon.

PAGASA said winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas in other areas.  (PNA)
