CONTROVERSIAL motovlogger Yanna Aguinaldo called out the Land Transportation Office (LTO), urging the agency to prioritize more critical road safety issues instead of focusing on her.
“If safety and discipline are truly the priorities, I hope they are enforced where they matter most — where they protect lives, not just trend online,” Yanna said in a social media post.
She pointed to unregulated, overloaded trucks on provincial highways, illegally parked vehicles in emergency lanes, and unmarked road hazards like open manholes and damaged barriers as more urgent concerns.
“I only hope this same level of scrutiny is directed toward more pressing, longstanding issues that truly compromise public safety on a daily basis,” she added.
Last week, the agency found Yanna guilty of traffic violations related to a viral road rage incident in Zambales and fined her P7,000. Her driver’s license was also suspended.
Transportation Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, who also heads the LTO, said Yanna was fined P5,000 for using a motorcycle without side mirrors and P2,000 for reckless driving.
Her license will remain suspended until she complies with the LTO’s order to surrender the motorcycle she used during the incident, which she admitted was not registered under her name.
Yanna went viral after a video showed her confronting another motorist in Zambales. The backlash resulted in calls for boycotts and mass reporting of her social media accounts.
