Russian vlogger nabbed for harassing Pinoys in BGC, faces deportation

AUTHORITIES have arrested Russian content creator Vitaly Zdorovetskiy following a series of incidents in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) where he was seen harassing security guards and residents.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed the arrest of the 33-year-old vlogger, tagging him as an undesirable foreign national after his viral social media posts sparked outrage.

The arrest was carried out in coordination with the Makati Police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

“While the Philippines is known for its hospitality, foreign visitors are expected to respect local customs and obey our laws,” said Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.

Zdorovetskiy has been transferred to the BI’s detention facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig, while awaiting deportation proceedings.

Videos circulating online show him snatching a security guard’s hat, attempting to touch another guard’s firearm, and even kissing him. He was also seen grabbing an industrial fan from a restaurant and bringing it to his hotel. He also threated to rob a woman who refused to be filmed with him before he called her a “liberal f*ck” for wearing a face mask.

A Change.org petition has since been launched, calling for Zdorovetskiy’s ban from all social media platforms for alleged cyberbullying in the Philippines.
