Rendon Labador calls Marilaque accident victim a ‘super kamote rider’

SOCIAL media personality Rendon Labador sparked controversy after blaming a victim in a fatal Marilaque Highway accident, calling him a “super kamote rider” and suggesting speed bumps as a solution to reckless driving.

His remarks came after the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) announced increased patrols on the Marikina-Rizal-Laguna-Quezon (Marilaque) Highway following a crash that left two riders dead and four bystanders injured. HPG Director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said 15 more officers would be deployed to boost monitoring along the 115-kilometer stretch.

In a Facebook post, Labador criticized riders frequenting the highway: “Para mabawasan ang aksidente sa Marilaque, eto na ang solusyon. Ayaw tumigil ng mga kamote riders, edi punuin natin ng humps. Agree???”

He then referenced one of the victims, blaming his recklessness. “Kawawa yung naiwan na 3-YEAR-OLD na anak ni Super Kamote. Sa katangahan ng tatay, naulila ng maaga ang anak,” he wrote.

Labador also reminded other motorists to prioritize safety. “Ingat tayo mga bro! Hindi biro ang pagmo-motor. I-enjoy natin at huwag gamitin sa pagmamayabang. Condolence sa pamilya ni Super Kamote.”
