PNP denies involvement in viral video, affidavit of Paolo Duterte bar incident

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) denied having any role in the circulation of a viral video showing Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte allegedly confronting a man at a bar.

“The PNP categorically clarifies that it does not have custody of any CCTV footage allegedly linked to the altercation at a bar in Davao City involving Representative Paolo Duterte,” the PNP said in a statement.

“The circulating videos online did not originate from the PNP, nor were they obtained or released by any PNP unit or personnel,” it added.

The PNP also distanced itself from the alleged affidavit of a complainant who accused Duterte of physical assault.

“The document in question was not released by the police, and the PNP has no official role in its circulation,” the statement read.

In the viral video, Duterte is seen confronting and threatening a man, even knocking his head against the other man’s forehead.

Vice President Sara Duterte has called the incident a “political attack” by the Marcos administration.
