A MAN featured in Ivana Alawi’s viral “buntis” vlog has appealed to the actress-influencer to take down or blur his appearance in the video, saying it has caused him embarrassment and online harassment.
Identifying himself on Facebook, Vio Pineda Javier said he was the person captured in the trending vlog where Ivana disguised herself as a pregnant beggar.
He asked Ivana and her digital team to remove the footage or at least blur his face so he would not be easily recognized.
Javier said several acquaintances saw the vlog and began mocking, bashing, and discriminating against him. Some, he added, were angry because they believed he acted disgusted toward Ivana, who was in character, after she approached him.
In a lengthy post, Javier insisted he treated Ivana respectfully during the encounter.
“Palinis po ng saken, Ma’am… maayos ko po kayong pinakiharapan. Ang labas po kasi, ako pa ‘yung namahiya. Twenty pesos po na binigay ng staff ninyo sa akin, ganun pa result. Nag-alok din po ako sa inyo ng kumain,” he wrote.
Netizens quickly took his side, with some urging him to consider legal action.
“Mr. Vio, puwede niyo po siya ireklamo under the Data Privacy Act… Dapat naka-blur ang mukha ninyo para hindi kayo makilala, lalo na’t wala kayong pahintulot,” one commenter said.
Others questioned the vlog’s concept, noting that ordinary people were unintentionally cast in a negative light.
“Honestly, the concept of the vlog is odd… Ginawang content ang ibang tao tapos napahiya pa. Worst part is, hindi naka-blur ang faces nila,” another user wrote.
