Lucky chicken lands jeepney driver in trouble

A JEEPNEY driver in Pasay City was flagged down Thursday, August 14, after authorities spotted a live chicken perched on the hood of his vehicle.

The Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) issued a citation to the driver, who explained that the chicken was a gift from his mother and had served as his “good luck charm” for the past 10 years.

But the SAICT noted that the bird obstructed the driver’s view of the road. Inspectors also found other violations, including worn-out tires and defective brake lights.

The inspection was part of SAICT’s “Random Road Worthiness Inspection” to ensure passenger safety in public transport.
