FORMER senator Jinggoy Estrada’s wife, Precy Vitug-Ejercito, has called out Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay over what she described as a “horrendous” hotel experience involving a cockroach in the bathtub, a malfunctioning toilet, and poor housekeeping.
In a scathing Facebook post, Ejercito said her much-anticipated Boracay vacation was “ruined” by a series of service failures at the upscale resort.
“Is this for real?! A huge, smelly cockroach in my bathtub!!! And the smell of the cockroach lingering throughout the entire bathroom!!!” she wrote. “You’ve ruined my vacation, Mövenpick Boracay!”
She also raised concerns about a broken toilet. According to her, the water closet initially emitted a foul odor due to the cockroach incident. A staff member who was sent to fix the toilet allegedly made it worse by breaking the flush mechanism, which rendered it unusable.
Ejercito further claimed that multiple staff members entered and exited her villa without coordination, compromising her privacy.
“Housekeeping is not up to standard,” she added. “The cleanliness is very, very disappointing.”
In a statement, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay issued a public apology.
“We are deeply alarmed and truly sorry for the distress you experienced,” the hotel said. “You deserved better from us, and we understand your frustration completely.”
The hotel’s top management has since contacted Ejercito and vowed to take “immediate steps” to review and improve its internal processes.
“While this is an isolated incident and not reflective of the feedback we usually receive, that does not in any way diminish the impact of what you went through,” the resort said.
Ejercito has yet to confirm whether she will pursue further action.
