LUCENA City Mayor Mark Alcala is under fire from netizens after a grammatically incorrect caption on his Instagram post went viral.
Alcala, an alumnus of both De La Salle University and the College of Saint Benilde, posted a vacation photo of himself with the caption: “Reserving my peace.”
It didn’t take long for online critics to chime in.
“Reserving my peace? Naka-reserve talaga. Parang upuan lang?” said one user.
“Reserving talaga? Hindi pa preserving?” added another.
“Ano pinaglalaban ni Mayor at pa topless-topless siya? Mag-edit muna siya—preserved my peace, as in preservation of peace, hindi reserved. Ano kaya conversation nila ni KB?” one commenter quipped.
“Nakakahiya yung lapse na ‘reserve.’ May time mamili ng topless shots pero walang time mag-proofread. Mayor yan ha,” another wrote.
“Sana maintaining na lang ginamit niya. Hayan, kulang kasi ng letter P, nabash tuloy,” said one netizen, poking fun at the slip.
So far, the mayor has yet to respond to the online roasting.
