Ayon kay de Been, gusto niyang muling pasiglahin ang restaurant industry na lubhang naapektuhan ng pandemya.
“I was feeling bad seeing the sufferings of the masses and the dismal situation of the restaurant industry. Therefore, I decided to create the world’s most expensive burger and donate the entire income to charity to do good for the society,” aniya sa isang panayam.
Isang negosyante, si Robert Wilemese, ang kauna-unahang bumili ng nasabing burger.
Ayon sa ulat, ang burger na tinawag na “Golden Boy” ay sinangkapan ng Japanese wagyu beef, beluga caviar, Alaskan king crab, Dom Perignon battered onion rings, at Jamon Iberico ham.
Mayroon din itong smoked saffron chive mayonnaise na gawa sa itlog ng pato, barbecue sauce na gawa sa Kopi Luwak coffee at Macallan single malt whisky.
Ang tinapay ay Dom Perignon Champagne bun na may gold leaf exterior.
