Fake news alert: ICI denies claims of Senator Villar’s outburst during hearing

THE Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) on Friday dismissed as fake news the online claims that Senator Mark Villar lost his temper and caused a scene during his appearance before the body.

“This is not true. The proceedings were orderly, similar to the other hearings conducted by the ICI. We will issue disclaimers on false allegations and rely on legitimate and responsible media outlets to inform the public of the truth,” ICI Executive Director Brian Hosaka told reporters.

The ICI invited Villar to clarify issues related to alleged flood control anomalies.

Villar previously served as Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary from 2016 to 2021 and currently chairs the Senate Committee on Public Works.

Hosaka also said the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) will assist the ICI with its legal requirements in line with the directive of the Office of the Executive Secretary for all government agencies to provide full cooperation to the commission.

In a social media post of Ramon Tulfo said Villar caused a scene during ICI hearing.
