TV host-comedian Vice Ganda asked his supporters to stop pushing him to enter politics, saying he has no plans to run for public office.
The topic came up on “It’s Showtime” after Anne Curtis jokingly suggested that Vice should consider running in an election.
“Alam mo dapat tumakbo ka kaya? Iboboto kita,” Curtis said.
Vice initially brushed it off with humor. “Alam mo, tama na kasi bata pa lang ako takbo na ako nang takbo sa Sta. Ana. Hanggang pagtanda ko ba naman?” he said.
He later turned serious, saying the repeated calls have only invited criticism. “Hoy, itigil ninyo na nga ’yang takbo-takbo na ’yan. Bina-bash tuloy ako na wala akong ginagawa,” Vice said.
“I am a beauty queen, I am not a politician. I’m just a beautiful face in the industry,” he added.
When Jhong Hilario quipped that the country would finally have “a President Vice,” the comedian paused before responding, “Yeah, but let’s not entertain the thought.”
Vice later clarified that the exchange was all in jest. “Nagbibiruan lang po kami rito. Iba-bash na naman ako… Akala nila tatakbo ako talaga,” he said.
