COMEDIAN Tuesday Vargas has defended herself after a Reddit post accused her of being rude to fellow Filipinos who approached her for photos at Hong Kong Disneyland.
In a series of Facebook posts, Tusday denied snubbing anyone, saying she made time for all who asked her nicely for pictures.
“Bakit po may mga ganitong tao sa mundo?” she began. “Lahat po ng nag-ask nicely sa akin ay pinagbigyan ko magpa-picture. Nakakalungkot po na may ganitong mapaggawa ng kwento.”
The actress said she could not recall turning down or acting cold toward anyone during her trip, adding that it was a hot and crowded day.
“Wala akong maalala na nang-irap ako o nagtaray sa kahit sinong maayos na lumapit. Please lang po, huwag naman po tayong ganyan. Nakakasakit po kayo ng damdamin,” she wrote.
Tuesday also addressed the Reddit user directly, saying she wished the person had confronted her in person instead of hiding behind a post. “Kung talagang matapang ka, sana sinabi mo sa akin doon mismo ang saloobin mo at di ka nagtago sa Reddit,” she added.
The viral Reddit post claimed that Vargas “rolled her eyes” at a child and her grandmother who asked for a photo, allegedly telling them, “Kaya nga ako andito para mag-relax.” The user further described Tuesday as “bubbly online but totally opposite in person.”
Tuesday, however, maintained that she was simply enjoying her vacation like everyone else. “Tahimik lang akong nakapila at nag-eenjoy kagaya ng lahat,” she said. “Sinusubukan kong maging mabuting tao parati pero ang dami na kapwa ko Pilipino pa ang yumuyurak sa pagkatao ko.”
