VETERAN actress Sylvia Sanchez dismissed rumors that she is preparing to enter politics and run for mayor of Quezon City in the 2028 elections.
Speaking to members of the media during the contract signing of new talents under Nathan Studios Artists Management on February 3, Sylvia said she was surprised by the circulating claims.
“Paano ako magme-mayor ng QC, e, hindi nga ako naging kagawad?” she said.
She stressed that she has no political background and questioned the logic behind the rumors.
“Magme-mayor ako kaagad ng QC? Ano ba ’yon? Mag-kagawad muna ako. Start muna sa mababa, di ba?” she added.
Sylvia further pointed out that she never even held a position in the Sangguniang Kabataan.
“Hindi nga ako nag-SK. Kagawad, kapitan—ganu’n, di ba? Bago mag-mayor,” she said.
