PINALAGAN ni Sheena Palad, ang singer na pumalit sa veteran actress na si Eva Darren bilang presenter sa Famas Awards noong Linggo ng gabi, ang mga netizens na binabatikos siya sa umano’y kapalpakan ng award-giving body.
Sa Facebook, inireklamo ni Sheena ang mga pangha-harass sa kanya ng mga netizens na nakikisimpatya sa veteran actress.
“I am Sheena Palad, the ‘young singer’ who was mentioned alongside Mr Tirso Cruz III. [I] would like to give [my] statement regarding the situation,” aniya.
“I am being harassed, maligned, called names and thrown offensive accusations today online and ALL I CAN SAY IS… Buti na lang may Lord Jesus Christ ako sa buhay ko,” dagdag niya.
“Honestly, Hindi ko kaya to! It’s also a lesson for everybody to not QUICKLY judge a person. And makes me think too that what I’m going through doesnt even come close to what my Savior had to go through when He suffered and died on the cross for me,” wika pa ni Sheena.
Sa kalakip na video, iginiit ng singer na wala siyang kinalaman sa pagpalit ng presenter.
Kuwento niya, hindi bilang presenter ang ipinunta niya sa Famas awards night.
“I was called by the organizers to perform for the dinner pleasure…So I sang two songs nung time po na yun.
“Nung naka-standby, nakaupo po ako, pinuntahan po ako ng staff. Sabi niya, ‘Sheena, can we ask a big favor from you?’
“Sabi ko, ‘Yes, what’s that?’
“Tapos sabi niya, ‘Can you present the awards?’
“Sabi ko, ‘Okay, sige, sige, no problem.’
“That’s it. Yun lang po yung alam ko, at hindi ko po alam na si Miss Eva ‘yung magpe-present po.”
Pagdidiin niya, sinunod lang niya ang utos ng staff.
“Ang instruction lang po sa akin is, ‘Sheena, you’re gonna present after you sing the production number.’
“So, sabi ko, ‘Okay po, sige po.’
“So sabi niya, ‘Once you’re done with the production, punta ka na doon sa gilid and Sir Tirso will be with you.’
“So, sabi ko naman, ‘Okay, sige po, yun lang. So I was just following instructions.”
