KAPUSO artist Sandro Muhlach decided not to attend the GMA Gala 2025 held on August 2, citing trauma from a previous incident linked to last year’s event.
According to talent manager and vlogger Ogie Diaz, who discussed the matter in his Showbiz Updates vlog, Sandro was invited to the star-studded gathering but chose not to attend.
“To be honest, si Sandro Muhlach ay invited. Pero pinili ng bata na huwag um-attend. Kasi una, kung a-attend siya, maaalala na naman niya,” said Ogie.
He was referring to Sandro’s sexual assault allegations against two GMA Network contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz. The alleged assault reportedly happened inside a hotel after the GMA Gala 2024.
“Pangalawa, pagpipiyestahan na naman siya. Siyempre, itatanong na naman du’n kapag may naka-corner sa kanya,” Ogie added.
Sandro filed complaints of sexual assault against the two men, who denied the accusations and appealed to the court to dismiss the case.
In February 2025, however, Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 114 denied the motion to quash filed by the respondents, allowing the case to proceed.
The incident was also investigated by the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media chaired by Sen. Robin Padilla.
