ACTRESS Rhian Ramos and businessman-politician Sam Verzosa will again lace up their running shoes, this time for the Sydney Marathon in Australia, dedicating the race to children born with cleft lip and palate.
The pair, who both completed the New York Marathon in 2023, said they are running not for speed or personal records, but to continue raising awareness and funds for surgeries that can transform children’s lives.
“Hindi naman kami tumakbo sa marathon para makipagpabilisan. Nandoon kami para tumulong sa organization sa mga charity na rin. May mga charity kami na tinutulungan, like nagpapaopera kami ng mga kabataan na may bingot,” Sam said
“Marami na kaming natulungan. And even yung nag-London Marathon ako, ‘yun din ang tinulungan namin. Marami kaming napaopera,” he added.
Rhian, who has supported Sam’s charity initiatives, said training for marathons has taught her patience and resilience. She added that running for a cause makes the effort even more rewarding.
The Sydney Marathon, set on Sept. 14, 2025, is expected to draw thousands of runners from across the world.
