Ray Parks Jr. apologizes for viral airport post

PROFESSIONAL basketball player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. apologized after his social media post, where he claimed that staff at an airport lounge were involved in the near-theft of his fiancée’s mobile phone, went viral.

In the now-deleted post, Parks said the phone of content creator Zeinab Harake nearly got stolen at the Mabuhay Lounge at NAIA Terminal 1.

He added that once they mentioned reviewing CCTV footage, the phone “suddenly” reappeared.

“Can’t believe my wife’s cellphone almost got stolen. I hope they continue to investigate and that I hear an update about the culprit. Let’s do better,” he wrote.

Hours later, Parks issued an apology, admitting the matter should not have been made public.

“I didn’t expect this to be blown out of proportion,” he wrote. “First off, I’ll take responsibility and apologize to everyone involved. This should have been handled internally.”

He also acknowledged the effort of the lounge and airline staff: “I’m glad that the investigation continued. Great job on the part of PAL and the Mabuhay Lounge staff.”

“May reconciliation happen and may we all continue to do better and be better. Peace and love. God bless,” he added.
