Raquel Pempengco slams Jake Zyrus’ memoir: ‘Fake news…wala akong pake’

RAQUEL Pempengco has dismissed the claims made by her son, Jake Zyrus, in his 2018 memoir “I Am Jake”, calling them “fake news.”

Jake’s book resurfaced online after social media personality Xian Gaza posted excerpts detailing the singer’s allegations of repeated sexual abuse by an uncle when the singer was six years old.

The claims sparked public outrage with many criticizing Raquel for allegedly not believing Jake when he finally confided in her.

In response, Raquel took to Facebook to defend herself.

“Meron na namang fake news. Galing daw sa isang libro. Mga bashers, hindi updated yang libro na yan… Abangan niyo ako ang mag-a-update ng librong ‘yan,” she wrote, hinting that she would tell her side of the story.

She also hit back at Jake, saying, “Peace of mind pa rin ang pipiliin ko kesa patulan ko ang mga walang kwentang tao at mga walang utang na loob. The truth still prevails… But no matter what, my blood still flows in your veins, and you can only remove that when you’re already dead.”

Raquel acknowledged that she has long been painted as the villain but insisted that no book can change the truth. “Sanay na akong tawaging masama. Kung yan ba ikakasaya niyo, tanggap ko na ang pangalan kong ‘Evil Queen.’ Basta ako, alam ko ang sariling kwento ko.”

She ended her series of posts with a final clapback: “Sige lang kahit ano ibato niyo basta hindi nakakabawas ng kagandahan ko… Wala pa rin akong pake.”
