Ogie Diaz: Trillanes ‘more credible’ than critics

SHOWBIZ insider Ogie Diaz has publicly expressed support for former Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV following renewed criticism from former Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) chair Greco Belgica.

In a Facebook post on Friday, January 23, Diaz shared a pubmat quoting Belgica, who questioned Trillanes’ credibility amid his recent legal actions against political figures.

“Sa totoo lang, naniniwala pa ba ang tao kay Trillanes?” Belgica was quoted as saying.

Belgica’s statement was originally posted in October 2025, shortly after Trillanes filed plunder charges against Sen. Bong Go, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and two others.

The quote resurfaced online in recent days, following Trillanes’ filing of graft and plunder complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Diaz responded bluntly to the revived post. “Oo naman. Mas credible kesa kay Belgica,” he wrote.

He went on to praise Trillanes’ continued political relevance despite no longer holding public office.

“Walang posisyon si Antonio ‘Sonny’ Trillanes IV, pero ang powerful. Ang dami pang nagagawa. #Partida,” Diaz added.

Diaz is a known supporter of former Vice President Leni Robredo. Belgica, on the other hand, served as PACC chair under the Duterte administration and remains a staunch supporter of the former president.
