SINGER-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is grieving the sudden death of Andy, his close friend and longtime sound engineer.
In an Instagram post, Ogie shared that he had just spoken with Andy after a recent gig, unaware it would be their last exchange.
“After our gig last Saturday, we messaged each other and I was so looking forward to the US tour and the next shows. Andy, I am just so sad. Really sad. You were a tower of joy, of talent, of kindness, and of love,” he wrote.
“All of our shows were beautiful because of you and how you made us sound. All of your heart was in it. I wish to extend my condolences to his loved ones in Canada and here in the Philippines as well. We all lost a beautiful person. Rest now, my gentle giant friend. I will miss you,” Ogie added.
He did not disclose the cause of Andy’s death.
Among those who expressed sympathy were fellow singers Zsa Zsa Padilla and Martin Nievera.
