OPM legend Nonoy Zuñiga clarified that he is not a DDS or Doctor of Dental Science after being introduced as a dentist on “It’s Showtime.”
Nonoy made the clarification during the “TNT Grand Resbak 2025” segment where he served as one of the judges.
While speaking to a contestant, host Karylle introduced the balladeer by saying, “Ang maghuhurado sa iyo, isa siyang DDS, isa siyang dentista, Dr. Nonoy Zuñiga!”
She then turned to Nonoy and added, “Di ba, Tito? Baka hindi nila alam, Tito Nonoy, ‘di ba you’re a dentist?”
Nonoy immediately corrected her. “No, I’m not. I finished medicine,” he said.
Vice Ganda, who was also onstage, asked, “Ano ba ‘yung DDS?” to which Karylle responded, “Ano kasi ‘yon, Doctor of Dental Science.”
Vice replied, “Iklaro kasi natin,” alluding to the more common interpretation of DDS as Duterte Diehard Supporter.
Karylle apologized, saying she had received incorrect information, while Nonoy assured her he was not offended.
Karylle is a known supporter of former Vice President Leni Robredo.
