Mylene Dizon won’t leave properties to sons: ‘They have to earn it’

ACTRESS Mylene Dizon has made it clear: her sons will not inherit any of her properties.

In an interview with journalist Bernadette Sembrano on the latter’s YouTube channel, Mylene said she is raising her children to be responsible and self-sufficient.

“I have to do both jobs because I’m a single mom and I’m raising boys,” she said. “I want them to be decent and responsible.”

Mylene explained that her decision stemmed from past experiences with men who were spoiled and ill-prepared for the real world.

“Gusto ko ‘pag binitawan ko sila, kaya na nila. Kaya istrikta ako,” she said.

She also said she will not pass on any of her properties, including her beach house in La Union.

“Kung bibigyan ko sila ng P5 million, anong gagawin nila kung hindi nila alam gamitin ‘yon?” she said. “Gusto ko matuto sila. Ang iiwan ko lang sa kanila, edukasyon.”

Dizon added that she taught herself practical skills, such as welding and carpentry, so she could take care of her home without relying on anyone.

“Hindi ko ibibigay sa kanila ‘yung toolbox ko,” she said. “Igi-guide ko sila para makabuo sila ng sarili nilang toolbox.”
