BEAUTY queen and volleyball star Michele Gumabao remains hopeful that her father, actor Dennis Roldan, will someday be set free so they can be a complete family again.
“I still believe that one day, he will be free. And when that happens, we’ll be whole again,” Michele said in an interview.
Roldan, whose real name is Mitchell Gumabao, is serving a life sentence at the New Bilibid Prison after being convicted in 2014 for the kidnapping of a Filipino-Chinese boy in 2005.
Before tying the knot with businessman Aldo Panlilio last February, Michele made time to visit her father behind bars, aware that he wouldn’t be able to attend her wedding.
“Palagi kong iniisip na hintayin si Papa bago ako ikasal, para maihatid niya ako sa altar. But this time, it wasn’t possible,” she said.
Still, she shared that her father gave his full support and blessing to her marriage.
“Suportado niya ako. May basbas siya sa pagpapakasal namin ni Aldo,” Michele added.
