MISS WORLD 2013 Megan Young revealed she recently battled dengue, an illness she only discovered while already recovering.
In her Instagram broadcast channel, Megan shared that although she is now feeling better, the illness significantly affected her breast milk supply.
“I got sick. Little did I know, I had dengue!! Only found out when I was recovering na. All is good now, but getting sick affected my milk supply so much,” she wrote.
Megan said it took about a month and a half before she fully recovered from the viral infection.
Because of the physical toll, particularly during the holiday season when she fell ill again, the actress said she decided to gradually stop breastfeeding.
She described the weaning process as both emotionally and physically challenging, but said she now feels her energy returning after more than a month of slowly transitioning.
“Less snacking (nakakagutom mag pump!!), and less pressured,” she added.
Megan is married to actor Mikael Daez, whom she wed in January 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, Leon, in May 2025.
