McCoy De Leon kisses cross of Black Nazarene

ACTOR McCoy De Leon shared a deeply personal account of his experience during the Feast of the Black Nazarene, saying he was able to kiss the cross of the revered image after initially thinking he would miss the chance.

In a social media post, McCoy said he finished taping at around 2 a.m. and believed he would no longer be able to participate fully in the religious activity.

He said he instead bought devotional items such as handkerchiefs and shirts for his child.

He later passed by Quiapo Church to pray and observe, noting that he did not force his way inside due to restrictions.

“Iba rin ang pakiramdam pag taimtim lang tapos may tunog ng simbahan,” he wrote.

On his way home, McCoy said he felt unsettled and decided to return to search for the image, unsure of what would happen next.

“Muli ko siyang nakita ulit, palapit nang palapit,” he said, adding that fellow devotees helped him get closer, including one he identified as Johnny Najera.

“Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam at nahalik ako sa krus niya,” McCoy said.

He ended his post with a message of faith: “Poong Nazareno, hindi kita susukuan tulad ng hindi mo pagsuko sa akin.
