ACTOR Mark Herras has found new purpose beyond showbiz: running a meat shop franchise that helps him provide for his family.
The first StarStruck Ultimate Male Survivor shared that his business, a branch of Farmer’s Premium Meat Shop, is now his main source of income as television projects have become less frequent. “Inaasahan ko lang noon ang showbiz. Hindi ako nagtapos ng college,” he said in an interview on DTI Asenso Pilipino.
Herras said the transition from actor to entrepreneur was humbling but life-changing.
He is now a partner and franchisee of Farmer’s Premium Meat Shop, which operates branches and a poultry facility in Pangasinan.
His own outlet is located along U.N. Avenue in Malate, Manila. “Twenty years akong nasa showbiz. Ito ang first major business ko,” he said.
The Kapuso actor said he first joined the brand as an ambassador before deciding to invest. “Parang exam—parang math exam!” he said, laughing.
Though not as visible on television, Herras said he continues to do independent films and live shows while managing his business. “Hindi ako active sa TV, pero andiyan pa rin ako,” he said. “Ang importante, nabubuhay ko ang pamilya ko.”
