Marcus Adoro insists innocence, to perform with Eraserheads

ERASERHEADS’ lead guitarist Marcus Adoro maintained his innocence amid allegations of abuse and confirmed that he will perform with the iconic band at the upcoming Electric Fun Music Festival in October.

In April, frontman Ely Buendia announced that Adoro would not be part of the band’s new project following allegations that the musician sexually assaulted a high school student.

However, on May 31, the festival’s organizers said Adoro remains on the lineup as part of the Eraserheads.

“Following our initial statement, Marcus Adoro has informed us that he is actively and legally addressing the baseless and false allegations that recently circulated online,” the festival’s producers said in a statement.

“Mr. Adoro maintains his innocence and has presented the steps he has taken to assert his innocence through the appropriate legal channels,” they added.

They also said Adoro’s legal counsel assured them that his participation in the festival “will not hinder or delay their ongoing efforts to seek a fair and lawful resolution.”

“As producers, we want to make our position clear: We do not condone abuse in any form. At the same time, we firmly reject the culture of trial by social media,” the statement read. “Allegations must be heard, but the truth must be proven, not assumed.”

Adoro reposted the announcement in his Instagram Stories. He has yet to issue a direct statement on the allegations.
