Kolette Madelo apologizes to BINI over ‘insensitive’ reaction

PINOY Big Brother (PBB) Gen 11 third placer Nyckolette “Kolette” Madelo has publicly apologized to P-pop girl group BINI after drawing flak for her online reaction to a post perceived as offensive to one of the members.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, August 14, Madelo addressed the controversy, saying she regretted her actions.

“Hello Blooms, I just wanted to say sorry for reacting and engaging to a certain post about BINI. I understand it’s a serious topic and I should have been more thoughtful & sensitive,” she wrote.

Madelo said she was taking “full accountability” for the incident and expressed willingness to apologize personally to anyone who might have been hurt.

“I want to take full accountability and personally apologize to those who might have been offended,” she added.

The ex-housemate also appealed to her fans, known as Moonies, not to attack others in her defense.

“Moonies, I hope you don’t engage in hate train in my defense. Gagamitin ko ito as a lesson. I will do my best to be better,” she said.

Her statement came after some BINI fans, known as Blooms, called her out for “joining in” online jabs against the group. Several pointed out that it was not the first time she reacted to posts criticizing certain members.

The controversy stemmed from Madelo’s “haha” reaction to a Facebook post by social media personality Xian Gaza, who made remarks perceived as targeting a BINI member.
