Katya Santos: No Viva Hotbabes reunion for now

FOLLOWING the heels of the successful reunion concerts of the SexBomb Girls, actress Katya Santos has tempered expectations for a similar comeback by the Viva Hotbabes, saying a reunion is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

In a social media post, Katya thanked fans who have continued to call for a comeback by the once-popular all-female group, but clarified that a reunion is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

“Unfortunately, we all have our own different paths to prioritize right now. We love the idea but it may not happen anytime soon,” Katya said.

She also addressed lingering misconceptions about the group, stressing that Viva Hotbabes—composed of members including Katya Santos, Maui Taylor, Gwen Garci, Andrea del Rosario, Sheree Bautista, Jaymee Joaquin, and Jennifer Lee—was never positioned as a professional dance act.

“We are actresses and models. We never claimed to be professional dancers, and we were never meant to be,” she said, adding that the group’s appeal lay in its personalities, screen presence, and work across film, music, and media.

Katya noted that Viva Hotbabes became a fixture in Philippine pop culture not because of hype or comparison, but because it represented an era that celebrated confidence, individuality, and fearless self-expression, something she said many fans still remember fondly.

Despite shutting down reunion plans for now, Katya expressed gratitude for the continued support, saying the group remains appreciative of its place in local entertainment history.
