Kathryn Bernardo’s mom warns against fake posts dragging daughter’s name

KATHRYN Bernardo’s mother, Min Bernardo, has called out social media users who continue to use her daughter’s name and image in fake and misleading posts.

In a Facebook post, Mommy Min warned content creators and bashers against spreading fabricated stories against the actress, including a recent viral post falsely claiming Kathryn criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. over his disaster relief efforts.

“Please stop using my daughter’s name or image on your platform, especially if the stories you share are not true or spliced,” she said. “A story changes meaning when you add or remove even one word. That’s how fake news starts.”

She added: “Don’t twist the story just to get more views. It’s unfair! We’ve endured in silence for so long because of dagdag-bawas and story-twisting, but silence doesn’t mean we agree. Remember, as a mother, there’s a limit to how much pain and silence one can bear.”

Kathryn’s management, Star Magic, also issued a statement denying the fake post.

“Star Magic would like to inform the public that our artist Kathryn Bernardo did not make the remark circulating on social media. We ask everyone not to share the fake post and to verify information before posting,” it said.
