Julian Estrada skips Boracay gig after ‘unfortunate situation’

ACTOR and musician Julian Estrada, son of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, announced that he will not be performing at a scheduled event in Boracay following what he described as a “really unfortunate situation.”

“To everyone expecting to see me at Epic tonight, I won’t be able to make it,” he wrote in an Instagram Story on Saturday. “Got caught in a really unfortunate situation last night. (I) need time to recover, both physically and mentally. Appreciate all your understanding and support. See you soon.”

Earlier that same day, police confirmed that a son of Sen. Estrada and his companion were assaulted by a group of young men along the beachfront near Station 2 at around 2 a.m.

Initial reports said the victims were walking from a bar toward D’Mall when they were followed and attacked near a hotel in Barangay Balabag.

The suspects, identified by police as James Carl Vargas, Dwyne David Mecca, and Khenjie Sarabia, all 18 and residents of Boracay, allegedly approached the victims without provocation and began throwing punches. One of the victims was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities responded quickly and arrested the suspects at the scene. Police have not officially confirmed the identities of the victims.
