ACTRESS Julia Barretto has denied accusations that she was responsible for closing off a tourist area in Camiguin, saying she had no involvement in such decisions and is now considering legal action against the spread of misinformation.
In a statement, Barretto clarified that she visited Camiguin from March 1-3 as part of a tourism project in partnership with local leaders to promote the island’s history, culture, and natural beauty.
She stressed that any temporary closures during the shoot were coordinated by the local government, not by her.
She specifically called out a certain Nikka Kho, who publicly accused her of ordering the closures and labeled her “entitled and selfish.”
Barretto firmly denied the claim, calling it “unfair and misleading.”
She also urged Kho to be mindful of the harm caused by spreading unverified claims.
The actress likewise addressed a manipulated TikTok video with fake audio that misrepresents her actions.
She revealed that she is seeking legal advice to combat the spread of false and misleading information.
“I usually ignore baseless accusations, but I will not tolerate misinformation that misrepresents my character, my work, or the purpose of Juju On The Go,” she said.
