Janine Gutierrez hopes ABS-CBN tower preserved as a landmark

ACTRESS Janine Gutierrez joined voices expressing sadness over the dismantling of ABS-CBN’s iconic signal tower, sharing hopes that it might be preserved as a historic landmark.

In an Instagram post, Janine shared three photos: a close-up of the tower, a rooftop shot of her facing it, and a long nighttime aerial view.

She accompanied it with a heartfelt caption urging whoever acquires the former network compound to consider integrating the tower into future developments.

“I’ve been hoping that somehow the ABS-CBN tower would be preserved and integrated into the next development, like a landmark. Imagine shops or dining around it, everyone allowed to take photos,” she wrote.

“To community, service, hardwork, and dreams come true,” Janine added, paying tribute to what the tower symbolized for her and many Filipinos. “No matter what, home is a feeling anyway.”

Online, fans echoed her sentiment, likening the ABS-CBN tower to cultural monuments like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, which has withstood decades of history and conflict.

Despite the public support, there is no indication from the property’s new developer that the tower will be spared from demolition.
