Jake Ejercito slams gov’t after teachers forced to cross river

ACTOR Jake Ejercito took to social media to comment on a viral video of public school teachers in Sarangani province crossing a river to get home after classes were suspended due to heavy rains.

The video, uploaded by Teacher Jailene Tusan, showed a group of teachers from Sitio Banlas in Barangay Kihan, Malapatan, wading through a river with the help of residents. The area has no bridge, forcing teachers to cross dangerous waters to reach their schools or return home.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ejercito shared the video and said the government should be held accountable for such conditions.

“Just calling this ‘heroism’ lets the gov’t off the hook. This is plain neglect and betrayal,” he wrote.

The Department of Education and local officials have yet to issue a statement as of posting time.
