KAPAMILYA actor Jake Cuenca was caught off guard after learning that his close friend, Gerald Anderson, is reportedly tying the knot with actress Julia Barretto.
During the grand media conference of his upcoming ABS-CBN suspense-drama series What Lies Beneath, Jake was asked about the rumored wedding said to be happening next year in General Santos City, Gerald’s hometown.
“Wow! Really? Oh my God! Ngayon ko lang nalaman ‘yon! Totoo ba? Are we 110% sure or tsismis pa lang ito?” Jake said in surprise. “Well, I have to ask Gerald personally about it. Best friend ko naman siya.”
He added: “Sandali lang, hindi ako ang Best Man? Magmo-motor kami, I have to find out and I will update you guys.”
Asked if he would agree to be part of the wedding entourage, Jake said he would gladly do so. “Kay Gerald, oo! Kahit ring bearer pa, I will do it for him because he is my brother.”
The actor also shared that he has a good relationship with Barretto. “Yes, okay kami ni Julia ever since. I’ve been rooting for them. Sa gitna ng mga naririnig ko tungkol sa kanila, I prayed for them, kasi bagay talaga sila sa isa’t isa,” he said.
Jake acknowledged that the couple went through a rough patch but eventually reconciled. “Yes, pero I don’t want to share the details. Huwag naman sa akin manggaling. Ako pa ba magpapasabog?” he said.
