SINGER-songwriter Ice Seguerra called for respect and understanding for Jake Zyrus, urging the public to let the US-based artist live happily without judgment.
In an interview, Ice denounced the hate Jake faces online, emphasizing that the latter has done nothing wrong.
“Wala namang makakapagsabi na dapat ganito ka, dapat ganyan ka. Journey niya ito e. Wala naman siyang sinasaktan na tao. Bakit tayo nangingialam sa mga desisyon niya sa buhay?” Ice said.
Ice also addressed comparisons between him and Jake, asking netizens to stop.
“Ako, I honestly wish that people would stop comparing us. Kasi, okay, we’re both trans, but hindi porke pareho kaming trans, pareho kami ng journey,” he explained.
“Iba-iba ang tao. Iba-iba ang journey natin. Iba-iba ang pinagdadaanan ng tao. Iba-iba ang pupuntahan natin. Stop comparing us because hindi nakakatulong ‘yun,” Ice added.
