BINASAG ni dating Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista ang kanyang katahimikan at diretsahang sinagot ang mga tanong ukol sa naging relasyon nila ni Kris Aquino.
On their relationship:
“Very brief lang ‘yung relationship namin (ni Kris). It’s my first time to talk about her. And as much as possible ayokong (pag-usapan) kasi baka pagalitan ako, baka pagalitan niya ako ulit. Pagsabihan niya ako na I shouldn’t talk about her.”
On Kris as a GF:
“What I can say about Kris is that, she’s a very intellingent person, very caring person, talagang maalaga. And always the words of wisdom lagi kang makakarinig sa kanya.”
On communication:
“But we never stop communicating. There are times na hindi kayo magko-communicate walang text, walang call for about three, four, five months biglang magte-text siya, magte-text ako then kami ulit. One, two, three days (biglang wala ulit) ganu’n hanggang na-sustain ‘yun until namatay si PNoy. And then after that nawala ulit ‘yung communication.”
On marriage:
“Pinag-usapan namin ‘yung marriage, pero siyempre marriage is a process. I think she went through the same, pero whirlwind, e. Parang laging whirlwind ‘yung dinadaanan niyang relationship na nagpapakasal siya. E, ako naman kahit drama ‘yung buhay ko, conservative pa rin akong tao na let’s go through the motion, through the process. We talked about it but because of her experience and because of what happened to me parang that conversation about marriage was serious but not as serious in really getting married.”
On “broken promises”:
“Malaki ang respeto ko sa pamilya mo at sa ‘yo. ‘Yung pagmamahal ko sa ‘yo bilang kaibigan ay hindi nawawala. Pagaling ka, kumain ka ng marami which I would always tell her.”
On forgiveness:
“Siguro more of paumanhin. Sa oras ng pangangailangan niya lalung-lalo nu’ng…ay wala na ako sa tabi niya. Only given a chance to be with her at this very trying time of her life. Kung open ang communications namin, I would have been there beside her. Kaya lang iba na ‘yung events ng nangyari sa amin and I really felt bad for myself also na wala ako sa tabi niya sa oras ng pangangailangan niya.
Message for Kris:
“I do pray for her na sana maging okay ‘yung karamdaman niya. She’s leaving for the States, I don’t know kung kailan lalabas ‘to, she left for the States pang matagalan para makapag recover. I hope and pray that she recovers soon enough.”
