Elias, manager in legal battle over earnings

REGGAE singer and social media personality Elias J. TV has filed a case before a regional trial court in Kidapawan City seeking to nullify his contract with his talent manager, Beverly Pumicpic Labadlabad.

In his petition, filed Thursday alongside his bandmates and legal counsel, Elias (Elias Lintucan Jr. in real life) asked the court to declare his contract with Labadlabad void and to prevent her from further interfering in his engagements.

The suit includes a prayer for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, along with claims for accounting, damages, and attorney’s fees.

The legal move comes amid an ongoing rift between the two, with Elias allegedly taking on gigs and collecting talent fees without going through Labadlabad, whom he signed with in April this year.

Meanwhile, Labadlabad has denied wrongdoing and said she is preparing to file counter-charges of estafa and breach of contract against Elias next week before a Manila court.

She claimed the artist bypassed her as manager and failed to remit any of his earnings, which she estimates to total P1.7 million.

“They’ve been directly collecting from clients for two weeks now. Elias hasn’t turned over any of that to the management,” she said. “That’s not allowed.”

The manager said she has complete documentation and receipts to counter Elias’ claims. “I’m calm and relaxed. No anger here. Business is business,” Labadlabad added.
