HUMINGI ng sorry ang produksyon ng E.A.T sa MTRCB dahil sa “lubid” joke ng beteranong host at comedian na si Joey de Leon kamakailan na matinding inalmahan ng mga netizens.
Sa sulat sa MTRCB ni Jeny Ferre, E.A.T. Head of Creatives and Production Operations, nagpaliwanag ito sa nangyaring pagbibiro ni Joey sa “Gimme 5” segment ng noontime show noong September 23, 2023.
Naka-address ang sulat sa chairperson ng MTRCB na si Lala Sotto.
“We are writing to formally explain an incident that occurred last September 23, 2023, during E.A.T.’s “Gimme 5” segment involving one of our host (s), Mr. Joey de Leon.
“During the said incident, Mr. Joey de Leon suggested “lubid” (rope) as an answer to a question regarding things that may be worn around the neck.
“He conveyed this verbally in a very brief manner without further actions, elaborations or demonstrations.”
Wala umanong tinukoy si Joey, gayunman iba ang naging interpretasyon dito ng maraming nakapanood.
Gayunman, humihingi anya sila ng sorry sa lahat ng na-offend ng komedyante.
“However, some viewers interpreted the utterance of the said object as an insinuation of suicide, which is a very sensitive and triggering subject.
“In this regard, the whole EAT management is regretful and apologetic to those who were offended by the said utterance.
Nangako rin anya ang pamunuan ng E.A.T na isusulong ang responsable viewing experience para sa publiko.
“Rest assured that we are one with MTRCB in advocating a responsible viewing experience for the public.”
