COMEDIAN Dennis Padilla, along with his mother and brother, reportedly skipped the wedding reception of his daughter Claudia Barretto and opted to eat at a restaurant instead, after feeling snubbed at the ceremony.
Gene Padilla, Dennis’ brother, shared their experience on Facebook, revealing that their family had been excited to attend the April 8 wedding. But their mood quickly changed when they discovered that Dennis, the father of the bride, was not included in the official program.
He added that they arrived early at the venue—Gene coming from Bulacan and their mother waking up at 5 a.m. to prepare. Yet no one from the event organizers informed them that Dennis wouldn’t be part of the wedding procession. He was also reportedly told to sit with the guests instead of walking his daughter down the aisle or sitting with the immediate family.
“Di pala father of the bride. Guest of the bride,” Gene said.
Instead of staying for the reception, the Padilla family quietly left and had lunch elsewhere. Gene shared a photo of them at a restaurant, saying he felt for his brother and their mother, who were both in tears.
Puro kayo karangyaan at kasikatan. Sa inyo na lahat yan,” he said.
The post has since gone viral, sparking fresh discussion about Dennis’ strained ties with his children with former partner Marjorie Barretto.
As of posting, Claudia and her family have yet to respond publicly.
